GMs and NPCs

This page lists the GMs responsible for the creation of White Raccoon, as well as the NPCs that we are playing.

Game Interests: Exploration. Interaction with the environment and the world, and uncovering the secrets that may be hidden within. Home and Family

If I were an animal, I would be: A wolf (if the vast amount of wolf-based characters I've played in the past are any indication). In reality, probably something reasonably laid-back, like a capybara.

NPCs:

Name Pronouns Description
Professor Pancake he/him An opossum Scholar, researching human history. He can often be found giving a lecture in the Shelters to anyone who will listen.
Fraxinus the Swift they/them A cheetah who enjoys racing in the Park, and Dog's best friend. It is said no animal can run faster than them.
Dog he/him A hawk, and best friend of (and friendly rival to) Fraxinus. One of the fastest fliers around, especially in the Suburbs.
Fern she/they A capybara Scholar. Enjoys philosophising near the Rust Trees, and can typically be found pacing around them. She moved there from the Shallows a few Winters ago.
Cole he/him An old, reclusive wolf. It's said that he lives in a cave somewhere in the Forest, and hasn't been seen out and about for quite a while.
Missile he/they A golden eagle, and explorer extraordinaire. He knows where he is at all times. He knows this because he knows where he isn't. Has an injured wing following a crash in the Forest.
Thorn they/them A raven who spends most of their time in the trees around the Suburbs. Apparently works with Helping Paw, though it's difficult to tell by looking at them.
King Floof II he/him The humble King of the Squirrel Nation, and father of Shadowtail. He is a frail but well-respected squirrel.

Game Interests: The ways in which sentient animals with no knowledge of human society would inadvertently recreate it, and how they would differ. The defamiliarisation of everyday life. The City Centre.

If I were an animal, I would be: A raccoon. We have the same cute goth eye makeup. My friends agreed with this, citing that I am 'mischevious', 'clever' and 'a little bit rabid'. I read online that 'they can also make for annoying neighbours', which is very me.

NPCs:

Name Pronouns Description
Narcissushe/himA hawk and a member of one of the most respected families in the Grey Trees. He loves to rub his elevated social status in others' faces.
Bartlebyhe/himA very determined snail. His wife and kids once told him he would never make it to the top of the Grey Trees. They were wrong.
Rustzie/zirA ferret and a very devout follower of the Guardian. The closest thing to a religious authority in the Gated Place, whose interpretations of the Guardian's wishes are usually accepted.
Rexhe/theyA coyote, and one of a gang of three unruly youths who hang around the White Jungle. The most level-headed and soft-spoken.
Axelhe/himA meerkat, and one of a gang of three unruly youths who hang around the White Jungle. The joker, boisterous and charismatic.
Mortythey/themA gecko, and one of a gang of three unruly youths who hang around the White Jungle. The loudest, and de-facto leader.
Moonshineshe/herA yak, and a member of Helping Paw. She is young and rebellious, and is currently trying to recruit in the City Centre.

Game Interests: The lasting effects of the human world and society (defamiliarisation), the Oral Tradition, the Underground, mystery, knowledge and discovery.

If I were an animal, I would be: Supposedly, a howler monkey, because they're LOUD [lies >:(]. But I see myself more as a rescue cat – uncertain, reclusive, yet pleasant at first, but once they get used to you, they will yell non-stop and do things on their own terms (and definitely enjoy their personal space nevertheless).

The Rat King he/him The King of the Underground. Very large sewer rat. If spotted, dons a blue crown and carries a large sceptre.
Bandita she/her A fluffy raccoon with mask-like patterning who can sometimes be found in the White Jungle. Likes trinkets and other shiny things.
Dale and Nile they/any, they/it Aardvark and aye-aye. Pair of Gruff's scholarlings.
Gruff they/he A white goat with piercing eyes and unsettling grin who lives in the Underground. Is an intelligent scholar.
Hyacinth she/her A very bitter and angry little skunk found around the Suburbs.
Magnolia she/her A peppered moth and highly-ranked Knight recently tasked with finding information from the surface.
Matrix he/they/it A huge croc and Knight of Highest Order patrolling the Murky Waters.
Moose Musculus he/him A particularly large, brawny brown mouse. A respected and loyal Knight found patrolling the Underground.
Socks any Bluemittens' partner, and parent to their 3 kittens Boots (he/him), Buckles (they/them), and Braces (she/her). Lives in the Underground.
Toadstool he/him A wise old toad. Is bright green in colour and particularly friendly and easy to talk to. Lives in The Mire.
Vesper Costello he/they He's alive? A bedraggled pipistrelle with a scar in the shape of lightning running the entire length of his body on one side, head to claw. Once a leading researcher of human technology.
Vincent von Unten he/him A dark-furred vampire bat and a Knight of the Highest Order. Oversees many operations of the King's Knights. Knowledgeable, but taciturn.

Game Interests: Spirits, water animals, absurdism, the bonds of community and what that means.

If I were an animal, I would be: A penguin. Memes aside I think we have a lot in common, except that I don't like being cold. But we have a similar sense of style and a similar desire for world domination.

The Empress Penguin she/her The rather haughty self-proclaimed Empress of the Great Lake. She has gathered a fairly significant following and controls the major way into and out of the Great Lake.
Seashell she/her The Empress Penguin's far more easy going life-partner, Seashell hangs out on the Shore of the Great Lake, listening to interesting stories.
Sirius Starfish they/them A Starfish poet that lives in a sunken tower, Sirius enjoys sharing poems with those who come to visit. Just don't stay too long. They enjoy the quiet.
Casssiopoeia (zie/zir)An anaconda that lives alongside the Great Lake, Casss has the most amazing collection of human items to trade. Just don't ask zir where zie gets them.
Grumble (he/they)An old hippo who makes their home on the Shore, Grumble is a member of Helping Paw and uses his prodigious strength to help bring food and supplies between the City and Shore.
Adelie (they/them)A somewhat melancholic and eternally confused young penguin, Adelie is usually found on the Shore, but can pop up in unexpected places.
It That Hungers it/its It ȟ̸̹u̶̖̍n̴̜̈g̴͙͘e̷̛̬ȑ̵͎ŝ̵͈.

Game Interests: Exploration, animals traits and using them like special abilities, how the remnants of humanity affect animal life, introspection

If I were an animal, I would be: A fox; not one of those pretty country foxes, but a dirty, mangy city fox scouring through bins for a free meal

NPCs:

Boy he/him A cow who lives in the Plains. Founder and leader of Boy's Cows, a band of volunteer emergency first responders.
Lulu she/her A young elephant from the Plains, bored to death of spending all day around the Behemoth Twins, as her family does. Desperately wants to go exploring the other parts of the City.
Maple she/they A dormouse intern to Professor Pancake and budding Scholar. However, work has recently begun leaving Maple quite drained.
Idris any An ibis who prides themselves on possessing or being able to source anything you need. For the right price, of course.
Westley North he/they Navigator, cartographer, handsome devil, and now a proud member of the Pigeon Couriers, there's nothing this pigeon can't conquer once he puts his mind to it. And next on that list: the Grey Trees
Clara and Renard she and he Two adolescent foxes who used to cause a fair bit of light-hearted trouble around the City. The latter has since joined the Cows.
Jasmine she/her A snake who lives in the Suburbs.
