**Public Bio:**

Do you hear that?  Off in the distance, over the lapping of the waves it’s getting closer; shouts, raucous cheering and the odd cry of “crab overboard!”.  And there it is crashing through the last wave; ‘Splinter’ the driftwood which Captain Snapps and his small motley crew call home, Teca (an octopus) Accelerating the listing vessel through the water, Simone (a rat) frantically scampering across the branches using his weight to steer the branch between the waves, Archie (a seagul) yelling out directions, and finally Snapps himself forming a crab chain with the crab interns diving into the water to rescue the squirrels being pulled by the great lakes current. 
Snapps is a swashbuckling adventurer always astride the lakeworthy ‘Splinter’, often seen sailing the Great Lake ready to give any animal in trouble a helping claw, whilst also dodging the tributes of the empress penguin, and exploring the many uncharted corners of the city, forest, waterways; anywhere Stick can take him and anywhere to outdo Barnacle.

Sadly not long after the heroic event described above the crew disbanded thanks to a particularly dangerous adventure into the waterways caves, Snapps now sails alone occasionally trying to form a new crew he has submitted to a lone adventuring life.


**Species:** Crab

**Appearance:** 

A small crab with patchy colouration of browns and greys with subtle reds and greens, feeders often make him appear as if he has a beard, a scrap of cloth tied on his head which he claims is for camouflage but really is just because he thinks he looks good in it, and his trusty stick which he uses to paddle 'Splinter' and flourish like a sword (not that he’d know what that is) for dramatic effect.
